In a Monday press conference, the NBA star debated King’s memory and how America can’t cause itself be divided by racism.
“You know, the state of intolerance will never expire , but what we cannot do is allow it to curb us as beings, ” he said. “We can’t allow it to divide us.”
James likewise called out “the leader of our country” for tending racism, without mentioning President Donald Trump instantly:
“The guy in control has given beings and intolerance, and negative racism, an opportunity to be out and outspoken without panic, ” James said. “And that’s the grim situation for us, because it’s with you, and it’s around every day, but[ Trump] has allowed people to just come out and feel confident about doing negative things.”
James also said that citizens have a duty to do events better.
“We all have to continue to come together and glisten a brighter light on — I don’t want to use the word idiocy, but that’s basically what it comes down to.”

“We can’t allow that to stop us from continuing to be together and preach the liberty oath of life and enjoying and giggling and situations of that nature. Because would we want to live anywhere else? I don’t think so. We adoration this place.”
The NBA is playing 11 games on Monday, and James said he believes it’s a honorable tribute to the national holiday.
